Sound designer at the intersection of data, sonic investigation and performative sound.
about

Music is all about set and setting.
What makes sound truly memorable is
the forethought of what is accompanying,
where it's going to be played
and who is going to listen.

Sergio Jaramillo is a sound designer with a mix background in music, data analysis and design. Passionate about problem solving and investigation.
Projects
I crafted a provocative soundscape for this short film exploring sexuality and self-discovery, using abstract textures like latex stretching and rope friction rather than explicit sounds to evoke curiosity and discomfort, aligning with the film's mission to spark raw dialogue.
Im Inneren was a meditative art experience at Berlin's Café Kukumu where I created live sonic interventions alongside Samuel Jaramillo's paintings. Using modular synths and vocal processing, I developed a flexible musical framework that wove together composed themes with field recordings from Samuel's time in Berlin, adapting in real-time to the audience and space to create an immersive soundscape for introspection.
Col·lisió - For this immersive student event at Barcelona's Sala Apolo, I edited and recontextualized performance audio, blending DJ sets with participant voice recordings using glitch processing and granular synthesis to mirror the project's themes of cultural fragmentation and transformation.
Live Shapeshifting Session - I engineered this improvised collaboration between Olor Acre & Akazie, managing real-time mixing and multitrack recording for their spontaneous performance while designing sound systems for Galeria Alegria's challenging acoustics.
I created a 3D animation and original music for Tenemos que hablar a game to help couples navigate difficult conversations, featuring floating cards and crystal spheres in atmospheric red lighting to symbolize relationship vulnerability and the delicate balance of honest dialogue.
